Godwin Emefiele, CBN bank governor holds meeting with bankers, see what he said on new money

The Governor of the United Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has held a meeting with fifteen bank chiefs in Nigeria, and he has ordered them to ensure that the two naira currency is freely available to the public starting Wednesday.

Godwin Emefiele said this on Wednesday after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and the parliamentary committee on the issue of naira exchange.  In a speech to reporters at the presidential palace in Abuja,

Emefiele who described himself as an employee working to serve Nigerians urged Nigerians to allow the program to work because he believes it will bring development harm the Nigerian economy by stopping the challenge of collecting money illegally.

He is impatient with the challenge that the currency exchange process is bringing to the public, and he is not happy with his problem. Hopefully, the CBN joint bank will continue to do its best to alleviate this problem.

Before Thursday morning, President Buhari directed the CBN joint bank not to collect two hundred and one thousand naira notes with new two hundred and one thousand naira notes for 60 days.

Amosha, the president has finally reached the limit of five hundred and one thousand niara that is already available. Similarly, President Buhari also apologized to Nigerians for the hardships they
are facing due to the change of the new naira currency.
